As a partner with Debra Thompson in TG & Associates (and in marriage), Bill Greif brings an engineer’s perspective to the business along with the experience of two prior successful careers. His twenty years in the US Army included assignments in the states and overseas as a staff officer, project manager and unit commander. Bill did two tours in Vietnam; 1965-1966 and another year from 1971-1972. For three years he taught Mathematics at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He retired in 1980 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
The next twenty-one years included assignments as a functional manager and project manager in the aerospace industry. As a department manager he was responsible for leading the development of support processes and tools for all of the products of Raytheon Missile Systems Company in Tucson. Bill also served as leader of the Raytheon Engineering Training Guidance Team, establishing process training policy and managing course content for this 6000-person engineering organization. He retired from Raytheon in 2002 to work full time in TG & Associates.
Bill’s experiences in both careers provided him with a strong foundation in the principles of people management and leadership. Bill shares with Debra a strong belief that success in business is only achieved through the proper development, management and encouragement of the people in the business.
Bill has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. He is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College and the Department of Defense Systems Management College.
Bill and Debra reside in Tucson, AZ, which has been their home since 1994.
